📑 OPS-IQ: The Index — FAQ & About
← Back to IndexWhat is OPS-IQ: The Index?
Most software reviews are completely broken. They are either written by affiliates chasing quick payouts or platforms trapping you behind massive paywalls. OPS-IQ: The Index is not a directory; it is an opinionated operational stack decision engine.
Instead of categorizing applications by marketing spin, we analyze software as infrastructure and workflows. By assessing your strict budget limits and organization parameters, our system processes live data to build a zero-waste software stack tailored to your exact operational reality.
How do the I-N-D-E-X aisles work?
Traditional software categories are designed by vendors to sell features, resulting in major category blur (e.g., is Notion a document tool, a PM app, or a wiki?). To cut through this noise, the Index organizes the software universe into 5 Structural organizational Aisles that mirror how a practical operator views an enterprise:
- 🔴 The Vault (Financial Operations & Compliance): Where money, billing, invoices, bookkeeping ledgers, and legal safeguards live.
- 🔵 The Backbone (Infrastructure & Network): The technical framework keeping you online—including DNS, security posturing, remote access, hosting, and identity provider (SSO) systems.
- 🟡 The Brain (Intelligence & Reasoning): The execution layer utilizing specialized text models, vector retrieval (RAG), and data analytical intelligence.
- 🟢 The Frontline (Growth, Sales, & Client Surface): Customer acquisition hubs, pipelines, CRMs, active inbound marketing sequencers, and automated schedulers.
- 🟠 The Engine (Core Automation & Data Flow): Visual logic builders, asynchronous webhooks, background tasks, project trackers, and data mapping blueprints.
What's the difference between Explorer, 7-Day Pass, and Pro?
We optimize your operational budget, so we structure our access tiers the same way—no predatory billing traps or hidden upgrades:
| Option | Access Level | Customization | Reporting | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Explorer | Gated (50 rotating tools; 10 per aisle) | 2 standard metric views | Read-only analytics | Free Forever |
| 7-Day Pass | Full access to all 155+ apps | Up to 4 custom columns | Unlimited PDF exports | $29 One-Time |
| Pro | Full access + 10 workspaces | Up to 4 custom columns | Unlimited PDF exports | $39/mo or $320/yr |
Pro-only Master Feature: The Pro tier completely unlocks our Multi-Tenancy Engine, allowing operators to save and toggle between up to 10 distinct, isolated workspace environments at once without settings bleed-over.
How is the Operational Fit verdict calculated?
We score software on a strict 0/1/2 Normalized Scaling System (0 = Advanced Tech Required, 1 = Stable/Minor Setup, 2 = True Plug & Play). The system takes our 10-Dimension Operational Rubric and computes a floating-point average (AverageEase) across 4 friction parameters: Setup Time, UI Density, Tech Prerequisites, and Jargon Level.
However, we enforce a Hard Tripwire Rule to protect your wallet and team sanity:
If an application scores a critical 0 in Operational Fragility (high break frequency) or Tech Prerequisites, standard scoring is bypassed and it is strictly flagged as: ❌ Too Complex (Needs Tech Resource).
- AverageEase >= 1.5 ➔ 🟢 Highly Recommended (Plug & Play)
- 0.6 <= AverageEase <= 1.4 (or your outsourcing appetite is high) ➔ 🟡 Stable Choice (Minor Setup)
- AverageEase <= 0.5 ➔ 🛠️ Approved via Outsourced Developer
How do I earn points and the Verified Founder badge?
The Index relies on peer-to-peer accuracy, not paid vendor placement. You earn community points by validating stack logic:
- Voting "Agree/Disagree" on any tab's rubric score adds +0.25 points.
- Leaving an objective user tip or comment adds +1.0 point. (We strictly enforce a limit of 1 comment per app across the platform to avoid spam.)
- Submitting a new verified application form (with at least 50% data criteria completed) adds +2.0 points.
Once your account passes the 20-point target, your profile is automatically upgraded to a Verified Contributor badge. To achieve the full Verified Founder status, users must meet the points requirement, be active in the system, and have completed their badge actions within the first 90 days of launch and within the first 30 days of achieving Pro Status.
What is The Index Creed?
The software industry has levied a massive "complexity tax" on modern builders. The Index Creed is our public commitment and line in the sand against predatory, value-slicing tech traps. It grounds our platform on three distinct core pillars: Wallet & Financial Protection, Technical Integrity (No paywalled API upsells), and No Mandatory Complexity.
You can read our full manifestos and underlying architecture guidelines directly on the OPS-IQ: The INDEX Creed public ledger.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. We adhere to strict data sovereignty standards. Your architecture profiles, parameters, and saved stacks are isolated securely using backend Row-Level Security (RLS) policies via Supabase. This ensures that your private data yields a strict verification loop where only you can access your configurations (USING (auth.uid() = user_id)).
We don't track to resell data, and we don't allow tools to pay for preference.
Can I edit my submissions later?
Direct editing of submissions is not supported to maintain strict data integrity across the platform. However, users can easily re-enter parameters for their specific use case at any time. These updated entries will then be processed through our standard validation review to ensure the baseline database remains accurate and reliable for the entire community.
How does the weekly free rotation work?
To preserve neutral visibility without paying for rank slots, our Free Explorer database uses an automated system clock script. Every 7 days, the server programmatically selects exactly 50 tools total—pulling a balanced, deterministic rotation of 10 applications from each distinct operational Aisle. This lets free sandbox accounts evaluate wide platform options systematically without getting lost in database scale noise.
